Dr. James M. Hamby is Amplicore’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He oversees the company’s drug development and manufacturing operations. Most recently, Dr. Hamby worked as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Spartan Innovations at Michigan State University to facilitate the development and launch of early-stage biotech companies. Previously, Dr. Hamby served as Vice President of Business Development for the CDMO Ash Stevens Inc., where he was involved in many drug development projects and played a key role in growing the company’s business. Dr. Hamby is a medicinal chemist by training and served as Director of Inflammation Medicinal Chemistry at Parke-Davis/Pfizer, where he led early-stage discovery teams to deliver multiple preclinical drug candidates into clinical development. Dr. Hamby holds a B.S. degree in Pharmacy and a Doctorate degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Illinois (Chicago) and was a NIH postdoctoral fellow in the Chemistry Department at Princeton University.
