Dr. Francis J. Tinney has spent his entire professional career in the pharmaceutical industry. He initially started his career as a retail pharmacist while attending graduate school, transitioning to research chemist in new drug discovery, to work as patent attorney for several pharmaceutical companies. Most recently, he has worked as an IP consultant for individual inventors and start-up companies. Prior to this he was Senior Patent Counsel at Pfizer where he advised inventors and management on the patentability of new inventions, prepared and filled patent applications and supported litigation and enforcement of some of the companies most important products.

 

Dr. Tinney holds a B.S. degree in Pharmacy and an M.S. degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from St. John’s University, a Ph.D. degree from the University of Maryland in Organic Medicinal Chemistry, a J.D. degree from the University of Toledo and an LL. M. degree from Wayne State University.
